I've been playing around with the look of this blog tonight. Blogger now makes it so easy and gives you so many choices. It's fun playing around with it. I'm like a kid in a candy shop. So many choices, it's hard to decide.
What do you think of this look?
For now, at least?
I have a feeling I'll get the urge to change it every once in a while.
Hope it's been a deliciously fantastic weekend for you!

You Can't Help It, Can You?
You're jealous......you want my monkey socks. You know you do.
Actually they are more of a slipper, than a sock, but you still want them. ;) I don't blame you.
They are warm, soft and they make me smile every time I look down.
Oh, and they amuse my children, too.
Have a fun weekend, everyone!

Star Wars Math? Not Really.
Our adventure begins when this evil pilot who works for Darth Vader lands on a mysterious colorful planet.
As he explores this unusual planet, he decides it's the perfect place to take a break from his horribly hot helmet. What could it hurt, since there's nothing in this strange place except all these colorful, smooth, hollow rocks?
But, wait, what's this?!! It can't be!!
This evil pilot is....is....Princess Leia?
Tune in next time when you hear Darth Vader's pilot/Leia say .........
"I'm gonna need one heck of a facial if I wear this mask another minute!"
Ok, so the truth of the matter is, Evan loves to play with Alexa's Math U See Blocks. He knows they are not a toy, so he's only allowed to "gently" use them, right there at the table, quietly, as she works her lessons.
Well, on this day, he added his Star Wars Lego Darth Vader's evil pilot's body/Princess Leia head combo figure and I snapped a few pictures.
This little cheesy story is brought to you by a lack of sleep, a busy week and an odd sense of humor. :)

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

I just love.....
- watching my little boy play in his Spiderman costume that has built-in muscles. So adorable.
- discussing with Evan how much we love each other, after reading "Guess How Much I Love You". Apparently he loves me "all the way up to the curtains".
- giggles to the point of teary eyes, generated by much silliness as I and my girls play "Apples to Apples".
- seeing Evan come in from an outing with Daddy. He tells me how much fun he had as they looked at all the cool boy toys.
- observing as my 3 year old is praying with us, and realizing he knows way more words than I ever remember teaching. It's amazing what they pick up just by hearing everyone else.
- the look on Skylar's face as she's being dropped off for karate. That place brings her so much joy.
- how cute Alexa looks in her cozy robe.
- the way Taylor bursts out in random laughter as she "I M's" her friends on the computer. Apparently they are a funny bunch.
- spending time with John, when the kids are in bed. We can talk freely and watch shows that aren't on Sprout or Nick Jr. :)

So Funny
Last night, as I sat there watching a TV show with my kids, this Walmart commercial came on. I laughed so hard, I had tears and couldn't catch my breath. My kids kept asking me what was wrong. I couldn't breath long enough to answer them. It still makes me crack up everytime I even think about it. I'm not sure why it strikes such funny cord with me, but it does.
What do you think?

I Was Amused
Although the issues facing us today are real and scary, everyone needs to laugh once in a while.

A Meme
This one came from As Cozy as Spring. Looked like fun and Jenn left an open invite so I thought I'd take her up on it...
What was I doing ten years ago?
The summer of '98, I was pregnant with our second child. We lived in our townhouse at the other end of town and Taylor and I would go to the pool and spend lots of time with her little best friend, Amanda. I enjoyed the time with Amanda's mom, who was my best friend.
What are five (non-work) items on my to-do list today? (I'm doing this at 11 pm, so not much more I plan to do today).

Just for Fun....
You Are Corn Flakes |
![]() You are traditional and easy going. If something is high quality, you're satisfied with it. You don't need much variety or novelty in your life. You're happy with what you have. You're quite loyal. You're the type of person who eats the same breakfast every day... And likely at the exact same time each day! |
