"Time" for Math

Alexa is getting a bit of a refresher in telling time on a face clock. She's especially liking this because she got a watch for Christmas and was having a little trouble deciphering it.

We've been using Math U See for quite a few years now and they really break down the concept of time, into bits that are easier for the child to process and retain. We built the "clock", then I set it up with times and Alexa then figured out what time the clock was showing. Then we did the opposite.
After a little while she moved on to her workbook.

Once she saw the process with the blocks on the floor and understood it, she was able to do the workbook without any trouble.

She's enjoying her watch a lot more, now. :) Don't you just love it when something they learn has a real and immediate impact on their daily life?
