Where Do We Go From Here?

It's hard not to feel defeated after last night's election. When you pray, and fast, and get the word out any way you know how, and teach your children to do the same, and then vote for life, it is very disheartening to see an outcome like this.

I woke up this morning, very sad, and angry, too. I wrote a rant to post on this blog......an angry rant, but I deleted it. It was mostly towards those who voted for Obama, knowing exactly what abortion is, but putting other issues before life. I was, and am still, upset about that.

But, I was so inspired by John McCain's speech last night, that I thought I should take a lesson from him. He was so gracious, and respectful of now President-elect Obama. Senator McCain's speech was from the heart. I was very impressed.

So, what can we do now? Those of us who cherish life, from conception until natural death......always. Well, the prayers should continue, of course. Prayers for the unborn and their mothers. We can also get more active, with helping at Crisis pregnancy centers, making donations to pro-life groups, get involved with pro-life events (like prayer chains and prayer vigils) and leaving pro-life literature wherever you can. There are many more ideas listed here.

As far as FOCA goes, we need to be informed. Information on FOCA can be found here . Stay informed. Write to members of Congress as things progress with FOCA. I have never had an interest in politics, really. I've always voted, but didn't keep up to date in politics until election year. But, with where this country is now, and where it could be headed, we all need to be involved and informed. I probably should have been involved a long time ago. My wake up call came last night.

Prayers for President-elect Obama, too, are greatly needed right now. He may come across as the Mr. Smooth-Talkin' Man of Change, but he is in for a whopper of a job. He has been given a HUGE responsibility that I don't think he's ready for. I hope I'm wrong. We need to pray, too, for our country........our national security will likely be put to the test again, in the near future. It is talked about here. Scary.

So, time to pick up the pieces and move on. Here are some great ideas for getting through the next few days. I will try to focus on the positives now. Here goes.......

America is still the best place in the world to live.......

unless you are an unwanted, unborn baby.

Ooooops.

OK, I'll try again.
I'll be positive, starting........now.

Have a wonderful night. Tomorrow is a new day!

Good thoughts, Tina. Great post. You worked your way through it. I'm going to check your links as soon as I can. Keep up the good work. One comment - unborn babies and even those that are born are suffering in other countries even more so. But that is all the more reason for us to do what we can here in America - because it is America and it shouldn't be happening here. Love you all!
