A Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY AUGUST 4, 2008
Outside My Window...
A bunny nibbling at some clover near the crabapple tree. I hear some birds calling in the distance but can't see them from the window. The sun is up, but just barely.
I am thinking...
About what we should do today. We still have a lot to accomplish before the start of the new school year. But I also want to do some fun "summer" things with my children, too.
I am thankful for...
Dawn's filing system. This past weekend, I printed out that post and then went to get what I needed. I hope to write about it in the future. This system gives me hope that I can get "the paper beast" under control in my home.
From the kitchen...
Right now, just fresh, hot coffee that is so needed right now. But for dinner, salsa chicken and rice.
I am wearing...
Grey sweatpants, ankle socks, a black T and my tan cardigan (because it was chilly down here this morning).
I am creating...
more toddler/preschool activities, lesson plans for Social Studies, Religion, Science and Health/Manners. These are coming together nicely. I just have to organize my thoughts enough to get it on paper in a useful way.
I am going...
to try to take the kiddos peach picking sometime soon. Not sure if it will happen. I would also like to have another Teatime before summers end.
I am reading...
Real Learning.....for the second time. That book is such a wonderful resource and provides much needed motivation.
I am hoping...
that I get a lot accomplished around here this week.
I am hearing...
the hum of the computer. Some birds outside. The Wiggles on TV for Evan.
Around the house...
I had an idea about organizing our Teatime/Liturgical year decor. It involves using photo boxes in liturgical colors. I'm excited about it, but just need a trip to the craft store to pick up the boxes.
One of my favorite things...
the craft store! And this cup of coffee!
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:
Evan has a checkup (that I might postpone because I don't want him to "pick something up" before we go out of town to see my my new nephew), Sky has a birthday party to attend, I want to start preparing the filing system that I mentioned above, I need to start a meal plan for the Fall, laundry(as always), possible trip to the grocery store, a trip to the library, and maybe peach picking.

Here is picture thought I am sharing (or 2):

Sky and her pumpkin plants. They have grown so much and the vines are so long! There are many buds, but no signs of a pumpkin yet. She is so excited and hopeful. I really hope she gets at least one pumpkin from this plant.
