The Simple Woman's Daybook 3

FOR TODAY June 8th, 2008

Outside My Window...

The sun is shining and the temps. are rediculously high! It's unbearable to be out there for any length of time.

I am thinking...

About this coming week. The older 2 girls will be testing and it's our final week of school before summer break!

I am thankful for...

My family. We will get to see a lot of them in a couple of weeks. (We'll miss you Craig, Michelle and Ryan!)

From the kitchen...

Salsa chicken is in the oven , iced tea is cooling in the fridge and Taylor is currently baking a lemon cake with vanilla frosting.

I am wearing...

Sporty gray shorts, ankle socks and a light blue T-shirt.

I am creating...

Again, so many plans. And a post on our summer plans.

I am going...

To try to make this quick so I can be more available to my children.

I am reading...

A Mother's Rule of Life by Holly Peirlot. I started it last summer, got part way, decided I wasn't ready to "commit" to her plan, and chucked it for the time being. I think I'm ready now.

I am hoping...

Testing goes wellthis week and that I don't overplan our summer.

I am hearing...

Alexa and Evan playing and Taylor baking the cake in the kitchen.

Around the house...

My desk is a MESS! I have to clear that off before we start testing tomorrow.

One of my favorite things...

Air Conditioning!!!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:

Testing the girls, last 2 swimming lessons for Skylar, final plans on Alexa's birthday party in PA,

and I need to prepare sign up sheets for a couple of clubs I am coordinating for our homeschool group.

Here is picture thought I am sharing....

I don't know why, I just like the way this learning toy looks in the sun.

Want to do this too? Stop by Peggy's to sign up!

Thanks for sharing, Tina. How in the world do you find time for all of this!?! I'm tired just from VBS all morning - but then I can come home and rest! You would still have half of the Bible Class with you!! Ha ha just kidding! We have 20 kids in our "crew." We are called the Trinity Tubies - yes, tubies, not tubbies like Teletubbies. We are called tubies, because the VBS theme is "Power Lab." Jesus gives us the power to do all kinds of things - like being thankful and helpful, which are what we've discovered so far. Every time the kids hear the theme for the day - e.g. "Jesus give us the power to be thankful" they yell "Aha!!!" and point their one arm into the air. It gets better everyday! But it is very busy also, with 200 kids! When is your VBS? Thanks for sharing. Love ya!
