We buy a huge bag of Craisins at Costco because most of us love them! But the funny thing is, the part Alexa didn't like was the apple filling :( And she loves applesauce! Come to think of it, maybe I should be offended ;) I think your recipe is simple enough for even me to make. Thanks! I'll let you know how it goes!Tinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10770477620171596623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3368055918973811832.post-41748980678829677352008-10-25T20:25:00.000-07:002008-10-25T20:25:00.000-07:00The pie with the ice cream looks delicious. What ...The pie with the ice cream looks delicious. What part of the pie doesn't Alexa like -- the crust, the spices, the apples???? You can make a chunky applesauce that is much like the pie filling by cutting up the apples and cooking them in a pot with enough water to reach about 1/3 of the way up the pile of apples. Cook them until most of the water is gone; then add craisins and pie spices. The craisins are sweetened so there is no need to add sugar. Very good with milk or ice cream. Maybe if you know what part Alexa doesn't like you could take some out for her before adding that ingredient. Good luck!Mary Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05220648033507156502noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3368055918973811832.post-21367112080549172532008-10-25T06:42:00.000-07:002008-10-25T06:42:00.000-07:00Thank you all for your kind words! I never attempted it before, because I thought it would be complicated.

Last year, after our trip to the orchard, we made the apple crisp (your recipe mom) and the girls enjoyed that, too. But I can't remember if Alexa did.

I have another crust and more apples ready to be made into another pie. Any one want to come over for some coffee and apple pie? ;)Tinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10770477620171596623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3368055918973811832.post-6473710231439734932008-10-24T15:22:00.000-07:002008-10-24T15:22:00.000-07:00Good job, Tina. I know some guys here esp AJ who love apple pie but it may just be Grandma Cookie's apple pie (until he tastes yours, of course). Alexa might like my specialty that Mike likes - Apple Crisp!! I think you mentioned possibly making it. Super easy! If you want the recipe, just let me know!
